Celebrating a milestone!
As we approach the anniversary of our first year in business, I can hardly believe how the time has flown by! I was looking at pictures on our Facebook page taken during our grand opening and realize how very different the store looks today compared to that exciting day. The front of the building has had a mini-makeover and our exterior sign was been beautifully framed out. The original merchandise is, of course, long gone to new homes. We have decorated for four seasons.
While the original interior decor remains largely unchanged, we have rearranged displays and added new departments. Yesterday, we spent 12 hours flipping the whole place upside down as we replaced some large consignment furniture with new (to us, anyways) display pieces. As exhausting as that monumental task was, it was also so exciting! It is great fun to look at old stuff in new ways. Always trying to figure out how to breath new (and different) purpose into some found treasure is an opportunity to spread our creative wings.

As much as we love hearing ooh's and ahh's from customers who are visiting us for the first time (and we truly do!), there is something really gratifying about surprising our repeat customers. It made me smile when I overheard one customer tell another, "You must stop by frequently, because it never looks the same way twice." I took that as a compliment of the highest order. Change is a good thing and so is looking at things a little bit differently. The more, the better.
Our store is not perfect, but then, neither are we. Who amongst us is? We choose to see the beauty in idiosyncrasies, and to embrace the joy of being just the tiniest bit outrageous. As a result, the one thing our store has not been called...boring. We invite you to visit us and allow us to surprise you. We'd love to know what you think!

Keep doing what your doing. The atmosphere and surprises keep me coming back.
